Amendment to remove the amendment

On May 25th, 2018, Ireland voted 2:1 to remove the constitutional prohibition on abortion that was inserted into the constitution by 2:1 majority, through the 8th Amendment, in 1983. For 35 years the spirit of those who opposed this amendment was kept alive through protests, campaigning and rigorous lobbying. In the end, it was another generation of younger, vibrant voices who successfully mobilised for the change that eventually delivered the May 25th vote. In these three short videos I try to capture something of the spirit of the campaign, and of the announcement of the final result in Dublin Castle, May 26th, 2018.
